OBIETTIVO/I + OUTPUT
Il Progetto GreenHost dopo essere stato approvato viene pertanto attuato nell’ambito del programma ERASMUS-EDU-2023-PEX-COVE, ed ha identificato due esigenze specifiche nel settore della gestione dell’ospitalità e dell’industria turistica:
a) Carenza di personale qualificato: il reclutamento e il mantenimento di una forza lavoro qualificata sono la sfida più grande del settore, soprattutto dopo la pandemia, nel contesto più ampio dell’attuale grande necessità di riqualificazione in tutti i settori dell’istruzione e della formazione professionale, compresi il turismo e l’ospitalità.
b) Diventare verdi e sostenibili: In base a studi recenti l’industria del turismo, il settore alberghiero e della ristorazione, l’industria dell’ospitalità in generale, così come i trasporti e l’industria alimentare e delle bevande, è uno dei principali responsabili delle emissioni di gas a effetto serra che portano al cambiamento climatico.
Il progetto GreenHost quindi mette insieme 19 partner provenienti da 7 paesi che consentono interazioni, scambi e convergenza verso l’alto tra istituti di formazione professionale di tutti i livelli e rappresentanti dell’industria, con l’obiettivo di integrare le pratiche verdi e digitali nel curriculum di gestione dell’ospitalità e di aiutare studenti, professionisti e formatori ad aggiornarsi e riqualificarsi. La durata del progetto è di 48 mesi,capofila è l’Università di Salonicco in Grecia.

GreenHost Project – Vocational Excellence, Policy and Enterprise United for Hospitality Management Skills Adapted on Environmental Footprint Methods
GreenHost brings together a consortium of 19 partners from 7 countries, fostering collaboration, exchange and sharing of best practices among vocational education and training (VET) providers at all levels and representatives from the hospitality industry.
The main objective of the project is to integrate green and digital practices into hospitality management curricula and to support students, professionals and trainers in upskilling and reskilling.

Objectives and Expected Outputs
The GreenHost project is implemented under the ERASMUS-EDU-2023-PEX-COVE programme and addresses two key challenges in the hospitality and tourism sector:
1. Shortage of skilled workforce
Recruiting and retaining qualified staff has become one of the main challenges in the sector, particularly after the COVID-19 pandemic. This issue highlights the urgent need for reskilling and upskilling across vocational education and training systems.
2. Transition towards sustainability
The tourism and hospitality sector is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, alongside transport and food industries. This requires a strong shift towards environmentally sustainable practices.
In response, GreenHost aims to:
- integrate green and digital skills into VET curricula
- strengthen cooperation between education providers and industry stakeholders
- support the development of a more sustainable and resilient hospitality sector
- enhance the employability of learners and professionals
The project has a duration of 48 months and promotes knowledge exchange and innovation across partner countries.
